About AgricFresh

The smart solar powered Rectangular Refregirator

For smallholder farmers and traders.

Our innovative, IoT solar-powered mobile cold storage solution, based in Foumbot, West Region, Cameroon, is transforming the way farmers preserve and market their perishable produce. Equipped with advanced cold room panels, solar panels, sensors, a compressor, and an air cooler, our IoT-enabled technology significantly extends the shelf life of crops from a mere 5 days to an impressive 21 days.

To further empower farmers, we’ve developed a user-friendly web app that connects them directly to ready markets online. This digital platform enables farmers to easily find buyers, negotiate fair prices, and sell their produce at their convenience.

SDGs Addressed

The Global Menace

Post-harvest losses Globally, 1.3 billion tons of food is lost yearly(UN, FAO)

A significant portion of food waste occurs after crops are harvested, as they journey through the supply chain. From storage to the consumer's plate, fruits and vegetables are vulnerable to spoilage. According to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), a staggering 15% of food waste-related CO2 emissions stem from inefficiencies in post-harvest cold chains.
The problem is particularly acute in Sub-Saharan Africa, where up to 36% of the total harvested food is lost. A shocking 94% of these losses can be attributed to inefficient supply chain practices, highlighting the urgent need for innovative solutions to reduce food waste and improve food security.
